Sunday January 27th
I was looking forward to football but never found any, just people talking about it. We went to the rodeo S of town and there was quite a crowd there. It was supposed to be professional but the contestants didn't do as well as the Montana State High School Rodeo that we saw in Big Timber, MT a few years ago. Cathey enjoyed it a lot even though we did not get to see the kids' events which took place in the morning. I checked out the food vendors; nothing special there. I waited about twenty minutes for some homemade potato chips but I can't say they were worth the wait. They had an old fire truck on display, probably 1950s vintage; it was from the town of Chloride NE of here and N of Kingman.
They certainly did a good job of having things for the kids to do: an area with several dozen hula hoops, a dirt hill to climb on, a bungee swing, pony rides and other stuff that I didn't see but Cathey told me about. Of course the real cowboys were in the rodeo audience!
We were going to stop somewhere to eat but were both so pooped from walking around that we went home and crashed.
