The Computer gets Fixed

Wednesday December 5th


Got on the road to Tacoma by 9 and got to the Apple store before noon. Then I found out that I was supposed to have an appointment to have my computer looked at, but there was an opening at 12:45 so we mostly we hung around the Apple Store and played with other computers that were on display. Cathey ended up buying an ipad mini and then I got my turn with the geeks. He tried all the hocus pocus but couldn’t get the hard drive to respond; I was reaching for my wallet to buy a new hard drive but he said there was still a chance that the hard drive was OK but the software was at fault, but in order to find out he would have to reformat the hard drive – that means I lose all the documents and pictures and music on the computer. So I told him to go ahead. I didn’t have to buy the new hard drive but that was small consolation for the loss of my data. So I have a working computer but no applications or data.

Next we went over to the Camping World Store and bought a new toilet for the trailer. Then the long drive home; we stopped for a small supper in Silverdale.
